How do I use the position reporting feature of my GSR 56?

The GSR 56 is capable of transmitting position reports.  However, the function requires the GSR 56 to be interfaced with Garmin avionics that are certified for position reporting and configured for that feature.

When interfaced to compatible Garmin avionics, the pilot has options for setting the position reports for manual or automatic reporting as well as setting the time frequency for the transmission of automatic reports.  The Position Report setup can typically be found by going to Services and then Position Reporting.  However, please refer to your Garmin avionics Pilot’s Guide for specific instructions.
