Can I update the GI 275’s databases through Garmin Pilot by using the Database Concierge?

The GI 275's databases can be updated through a few methods . One method is with the Database Concierge within Garmin Pilot. By using this method, you can wirelessly transfer the databases from a mobile device while the aircraft is on the ground. For this function to work, Garmin Pilot should be at a minimum software version of 10.0 for iOS devices, and at a minimum software version of 7.4 for Android devices.

First, a WiFi connection must be established between the GI-275 and the mobile device.

To set up a Wifi name (SSID) and password:

1. On the GI 275, open the menu and select System > Wireless.
2. Select the SSID Data Field.
3. Input the desired Wi-Fi SSID name for the mobile device to connect to.
4. Select the Password Data Field.
5. Input the desired Wi-Fi password for the mobile device to use when connecting to the GI 275.

To update the databases:

1. Make sure you have the databases loaded in Garmin Pilot and ready to be transferred to the GI 275.
2. Go to System > Wireless, to see your WiFi information.  
3. Navigate to System > Databases. Touch the “Update” button.
4. On your mobile device, open Settings and establish a WiFi connection with the GI 275.
5. Open Garmin Pilot and navigate to the Database Concierge page.
6. On the GI 275, select “Connext - Updates Available”.
7. Select the database(s) to update. Touch “Update.”
8. When all database updates are complete, select the “Restart Unit.”
