How can I receive email notifications when new software is available for my certified avionics?

In order to receive email notifications when new system software is available for your certified avionics, you will need to make sure your devices are properly registered for warranty in flyGarmin. When the device is registered for warranty, and any time a new software version is announced and available, you will be notified via email.

When purchasing and installing certified avionics, these are usually registered by your Garmin Dealer. If they are not registered by your Garmin Dealer, or if you are not sure if they were registered or not, please follow these steps:

  1. Create an account on flyGarmin. If you already have an account, log in  to flyGarmin.
  2. Once the account is created, click on Devices at the top right of your screen.


  1. Click on Warranty. This will take you to the Warranty Registration page.


  1. On the Warranty Registration page, click on “Register Panel-Mounted Avionics/Devices.”

  1. You will be prompted to follow a series of steps. The first step is to identify your aircraft with a Make, Model and Serial Number. Once you enter the information, click “Continue.”

  1. You will then be prompted  to enter aircraft details and system details. For example, you will need to have the aircraft hours, and the system id of your Garmin device(s). When finished with this section, click “Continue.”

  1. On the next step, enter the purchase date of your devices or LRUs. Once you do this, you must enter the serial number of each device you wish to register. Click on “Verify Serial Numbers” to make sure the devices match the serial numbers you have entered. Once verified, click “Continue.”

  1. On the last page, review all the entered information. Once you do, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Submit Registration.”

  1. You will receive an email from the warranty registration team acknowledging the registration of your device. If your device has already been registered, you will also receive an email from the same team to inform you that your device has already been registered.

Note: If you are having trouble entering the information, like selecting a date, then please use a different browser.  Chrome is preferred.
